Sonrisas Level II

$589.00

Elementary Spanish curriculum for students grades 2nd-4th. Includes Teacher’s Manual, Student Portfolio, Resource CD, two music CDs, Calendar Time Guide, and 73 classroom posters. (CDs provided in digital format only.)

How It Works
  • Level II has the same structure as Level I—Circle Time, Story Time, and Art Time—with the addition of Partner Time.
  • Level II differs from Level I by adding thematic units, higher level performance targets, a Partner Time segment, and more independent reading and writing.
  • Thematic units provide opportunities to engage students in more complex and sophisticated thinking and language use.
  • Higher level performance targets focus on developing acquisition and age-appropriate Spanish for effective communication.
  • In Partner Time, students engage in a peer-to-peer setting and use the three modes of communication—interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational. Partners work together to interpret text and/or images, then use that information in an interpersonal exchange to complete a task. Partners then use their Spanish to present information to each other or to the class.
  • More independent reading and writing occurs through the reading and writing that is required in the Partner Time activities and the portfolio activities.
